A total of 32 members of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, Friday, got N1,825,000 welfare package from the union. This brings the amount to N2.150 million so far spent since the implementation of the scheme on August 2, 2019. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will be N600 million ($1.5 million) richer when FIFA releases the COVID-19 relief fund to each of its national associations across the world. The coronavirus relief plan for world football which gulped up to £1.2 billion ($1.5 billion) has been announced by FIFA. All member associations will be given a universal solidarity grant of $1m, with an additional $500,000 grant specifically for women’s football. A total of 684 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded on Friday in Nigeria. The total number of confirmed infections in the country now stands at 23,298. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on its Twitter handle said 8,253 patients have been discharged in the country and 554 patients have died. A man whose church located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom capital was demolished by AKSG Covid-19 Task Force on Tuesday has vowed to sue the government over the demolition of his church.
