The Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC), Thursday, shared N720.880 billion to the three tiers of government for August 2019. Of the amount, the federal government got N12.684 billion, states received N42.280 billion and Local Government Councils, N29.596 billion. The amount shared at the end of the monthly FAAC meeting held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, Abuja was N48.620 billion less than N769.520 billion shared in the previous month. Nigeria has recorded 131 new cases of the COVID-19, according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). NCDC, stating this in its Twitter handle Thursday, said of the cases, Lagos recorded 45, Kaduna and Plateau 17, while the FCT recorded 16.
