Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives, Thursday, rejected the planned increase in electricity tarriff by the executive arm of government. Leader of the Caucus, Mr Ndudi Elumelu, condemned the move and cautioned the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC and Ministry of Power to desist from the thoughts of raising the tariff. Sixty three persons in Akwa Ibom were convicted by a Mobile Court in Uyo for violating various traffic offences in the state during Christmas and New Year celebrations. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Akwa Ibom Sector Commander, Mr Sunday Oghenekaro, told newsmen in his office in Uyo on Thursday that his men arrested 65 traffic offenders who were given option of fine depending on the offences committed. After a painstaking 12-hour surgery involving 78 medical personnel have separated a 16- month conjoined twins at the National Hospital, Abuja. The twins were both delivered at the Federal Medical Hospital, Keffi, Nasarawa State before they were referred to the hospital. They had one liver, a protruding tummy and a lower chest were successfully separated. Scores, including civilians, sustained serious injuries, Tuesday, following a clash between soldiers and policemen in Abakpa area of Enugu metropolis.
