Despite the initial denial, the Directorate State Services (DSS) has confirmed that the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele is in its custody.
DSS had earlier denied that the suspended Emefiele was arrested and kept in its custody following apprehension of the public.

Emefiele was forced out of the Hilux vehicle he was in and taken away by the DSS operatives for grilling.
DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya has confirmed that the embattled suspended CBN Governor is now in their custody for “investigative reasons”.
The statement read, “EMEFIELE, NOW IN DSS CUSTODY’’
The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby confirms that Mr Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is now in its custody for some investigative reasons.
