The ruling All Progressives Congress in the country passing through storms and tempest does not show it drifting into irrelevance, after all.
A source close to a high ranking member of APC Caretaker Committee confided in Straightnews that “the party is planning to re-launch itself into limelight through online registration of new members nationwide soon.
“The registration will start from the ward to the national levels of the party. After this, new members into NWC will be elected to prepare the party for 2023 elections in the country.”
According to the source which pleaded anonymity, “We are targeting millions mostly many aggrieved members from other opposition political parties to strenghten our party’s machinery.
“Since the dissolution of National Working Committee of the party, many members and even some top hierarchy of the party have become disenchanted about wranglings that culminated in the dissolution of the party’s NWC.
“This was so as soon as the Appeal Court in Abuja upheld the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the party.”
The source noted “In fact, the recognition of Victor Giadom as the acting National Chairman in place of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi further dampened the morale of, and instilled distrust among the partymen, thus creating schisms in the party.
“To get back to the starting point of the sprint, we have to embark on online registration of new members, which is seen as a means of rejuvenating the party and ginger solidarity among the party faithfuls.”
