A Judicial Commission of Inquiry set up by Kaduna State government to look into the incessant violent crises in Kajuru local government area of the state has three months to submit its report.
The establishment of the Commission of Inquiry is a follow-up to the announcement by Governor Nasir el-Rufai to establish a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the communal conflict in Kajuru.
A statement by the spokesman to Governor Nasir El Rufai, Samuel Aruwan, Monday, said the commission is headed by Justice Isa Aliyu of the High Court of Kaduna State.
There has been incessant violence in Kajuru LGA in the last four months, during which no fewer than 200 persons have been killed.
The statement said, “During a visit to Karamai community in Kajuru local government area on March 2, 2019, Malam el-Rufai announced that the Kaduna State Government had decided to establish a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the communal conflict in Kajuru.
“The governor explained that building sustainable peace in the area requires that all the facts around the violent conflict be established.
“Further to that decision, the state government has constituted the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the incessant communal crises in Kajuru LGA and surrounding communities.”
