“I am well and fit. Let us continue with the programme,” Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s Vice President said after coming out of the crashed Presidential Fleet helicopter on Saturday near Kabba in Kogi State.
Osinbajo, who left for Abuja after a one-day visit to Akwa Ibom State on Friday, February 1, survived a similar incident in thehelicopter which conveyed him to the graduation of 40 senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Customs College in Gwagwalada on Thursday, June 7, 2018.
The helicopter could not rise above the tree when the Vice President was scheduled to depart but was forced to make an emergency landing.
News monitored from TVC NEWS, Lagos on February 2 indicated that “The Vice President, his brother, Senator Ojudu, his aide and a physician to his wife were occupants of the helicopter.
“It is a six-seater helicopter and there was no casualty; everyone aboard survived.
“There is no indication of sabotage or anything extra-ordinary this far.
“The exact cause of the accident will be determined by experts in due course but it is important at this stage to know that there was no casualty,” the Presidency official stated.
In a tweet Laolu Akande, the media aide to the VP “VP Osinbajo’s Chopper crash lands in Kabba, but he and the entire crew safe. He is continuing with his engagements and plans for the day in Kogi State.”
