The Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District hopeful under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emmanuel Enoidem, has pledged to offer effective representation to the people, if elected.
This came as the youths of the senatorial district bought and presented PDP Senatorial form and expression of interest for him to join the 2023 race.
The legal luminary who, over the years, had severally sponsored and supported some people to climb different political saddles may succeed Obong Christopher Ekpenyong, a PDP Senator, if elected during the 2023 National Assembly elections.

Announcing the purchase of form for him in his Twitter handle on Monday, Enoidem wrote ”Today, I was pleasantly surprised when the Youths of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District led by the trio of Hon Prince Ikim, Hon Ekpenyong Udo Ekpenyong, & Hon Gideon Uwa, presented the PDP Senatorial Form to me at my residence in Uyo. May God bless them exceedingly.’’
Speaking with Straightnews publisher in an interview on Monday, March 21, Enoidem thanked the youths for buying the form for him, saying it shows the level of confidence they have reposed in him.
He called on his constituents to stand by him by voting him into the Red Chambers in the 2023 elections.
”I am a man of character. If elected, I will give good and effective representation. I have the capacity. I will interface constantly with my constituents. I trust God that I will serve the senatorial district well,’’ the revered politician stated.
Reactions about his Senatorial aspiration
Reacting to the development, Godwin Enoidem, Board Member 1 in the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), said the gesture by the youths shows that one turn deserves another owing the magnanimous disposition of the Senatorial aspirant to many.
Enoidem who is the senior brother to the Senatorial aspirant noted that ‘’His pedigree is known. He is benevolent. This is the time God wants to reward him. I do not think he has any issue. His election is a foregone conclusion.’’
One of the youths who presented the form to Enoidem, Ekpenyong Udo Ekpenyong recalled that Ukanafun youths made up of 50 youths from each of the electoral wards gathered in his country home, Ikot Oku Usung for a get-together on January 3, 2022.
Ekpenyong who is the Ukanafun Coordinator of Maintain Peace Movement said ”In the converge, we decided to endorse Enoidem for the senatorial seat. I presided over the endorsement meeting.’’
The civil Engineer-cum-politician expressed the hope ”Enoidem will give us an effective representation in the Senate. We know his pedigree and capacity. He deserves to go for us. This was why the youths of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District decided to buy the form for him.’’
Enoidem’s Profile
Enoidem is the immediate past National Legal Adviser of the PDP, Barrister Emmanuel Moses Enoidem, who hails from Utu Ikot Eboro village in Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, was born on July 27, 1964.
At present, he is the National Coordinator of Maintain Peace Movement, a pan Akwa Ibom movement for peace.
He had his primary education at Afaha Obo, Ukanafun Local Government Area from 1970 to 1976. Later, he enrolled in the Northern Annang Secondary Commercial School, Utu Etim Ekpo, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, where he got his West African School Certificate (WASC).
From 1984 to 1988, young Emmanuel gained admission into the prestigious University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt, Rivers State to study Law. He bagged his LL.B from the university.
Between 1988 and 1989, he attended the Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island, Lagos, where he bagged B.L and was called to bar.
In November 1992, he was appointed as Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Law, University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. From there, he applied and acquired his Masters in Law, LL.M, in 1996.
Barrister Enoidem resigned his appointment from the university and ventured into politics when he was appointed as the Legal Adviser of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP), Etim Ekpo Chapter in 1992.
Through dint of hard work, he won as the Executive Chairman, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area under the defunct United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) between 1997 and 1998. From 2001 to 2007, he served as State Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akwa Ibom State.
Enoidem was appointed the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal from 2007 to 2013 and Commissioner for Special Duties from 2013 to 2015, where he served as a member of Akwa Ibom State Executive Council.
He is happily married to Annie with three children.
