Miracle, Sunday, emerged the winner of Big Brother Naija 2018 Reality Television Show and carted home N45 million, a brand new SUV car and other prices.

Miracle scored 38.18 per cent to become an overall winner. He is a graduate from the aviation school, and flew into the House with his pilot licence firmly in hand.

He feels grateful for everything in life as he knows how financially difficult it was to get there. Miracle’s love of dancing and camping is only parallel by his sense of fashion, especially his skinny jeans. Miracles hates inequality and says he’s not in the game for the money.

Cee-C is the first runner-up of the just concluded show. In the final competition, she scored 28.04 per cent and entered the House pretty satisfied to have found her purpose in life.

Oozing confidence and authenticity, she said she is “eye candy” and “mentally attractive” too. Her features are enhanced by her love for dresses that hug her body at the right spots.

The privately educated Cee-C likes to learn new stuff and is an avid novel reader. She is a mean cook and is an avid tennis player.

Tobi who took third position scored 22.53 per cent. A native from Ogun state, Oluwatobi Bakre is passionate about photography and football. Tobi’s hobbies range from poetry, dancing, rapping, singing and drawing.

Against all odds, Tobi graduated from the University of Lagos considering he is an avid clubber who lives on social media. The youngest of four siblings, Tobi’s most painful experience was seeing his father cry at his grandmother’s funeral.

Forever supportive, Tobi’s family shares in the BBNaija excitement. He has always wanted to be in the House if only “for fun”.

Alex who took fourth position scored 7.07 percent. Sandra Asagwa is a social butterfly who loves to dance. This single, vibrant, young lady is one of three children and she said she will miss her family the most while in the House.

She prides herself on being unique and daring. Alex believes that she will stand out because she “won’t hold back” so hold on to your hats folks because it looks like we are in for a wild ride.

Nina who took fifth position scored 4.18 per cent. She brought her people skills to the House: she says she loves talking, interacting with people and singing. Nina knows she will be the fans’ favourite because she will be “real and fans will love that”. If she were an animal, she said she would be a cat with nine lives for all the challenges she has gone through and overcome.

The show that started on January 20, 2018 with 20 housemates selected from different parts of the country.

Though Straightnews cannot independently verify the criteria of selecting housemates of this edition, being a national programme, the housemates represented each of the regions at least.

Facts available to us show that only few states were represented in the show while many others were left out.

In this year’s event, while the south-east and southwest had the most representation, the core north was totally left out.

The audition said to have been conducted in the 6 geo-political zones of the country had no representatives from the North West and North East. Only North Central, not considered to be core North was represented in the person of Bito.

Straightnews learnt that most housemates had come from Lagos and a few other states.

    Why Northerners Can’t Participate

Reacting, the President of the Arewa Consultative Youth Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, told our correspondent that the absence of core Northerners in the show should not come to anyone as a surprise.

His words, “No Northerner would appreciate such a programme. No core northerner will participate in a programme like the Big Brother Naija because of the immoral act involved.

“The show is immoral and we do not participate in such. No responsible child of a northern benefactor will participate. Even the non-Muslim, if they have proper upbringing, you cannot see them participating in the act of immorality.

However, Charles Oputa, maverick entertainer and activist, also known as Charlyboy has called for an outright ban of the Big Brother Naija reality show.

Charlyboy said the reality show should be banned due to its negative impact on Nigerian youths.

The activist speaking newsmen wondered what moral value the show had impacted the Nigerian youths.

CB said, “If I had my way, I would ban young people from watching that scrap. With their present predicament, I don’t see how it adds value to their lives or their future.”

Despite enjoying large viewership among Nigerians, the reality show has been perceived in certain quarters as having negative impact on youths.

The show has been enmeshed with scenes of flash nudity and sexual acts.

Few weeks after the show started, two housemates, Miracle and Nina were caught severally having sex.

Also, evicted housemates, Bambam and Teddy A were caught on camera having sex in the toilet.

Other housemates like, Tobi, Cee-C, Lolu, Anto and Alex were at one point or the other involved in immoral acts like kissing, touching and exposing sensitive body parts.
