A popular clergyman in Akwa Ibom State, Bishop Moswill Umoh is dead.
Announcing the sad news on his Facebook page, his son, Ekponobong Moswill, wrote Monday night: ‘‘On behalf of our family, I wish to announce that my father, Bishop Moswill Umoh has gone to be with the Lord. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement.’’
In another post, Comrade Etuk Enobong penned: ‘‘When your loved ones dies all those pet names stops, such a great man, evangelist and a lover of the Gospel. My father will forever miss you and I’ll miss that your baritone voice when you call me Enobong Enobong. Rest in peace my friend from childhood. Good night dad. Farewell soldier of the cross.’’
Until his demise, Moswill was the President of Rapture Trust Ministries Incorporated, Ikot Akpa Nkuk, Ukanafun Local Government Area.
An indigene of Ikot Obiokpoho in Ukanafun Local Government Area, he gave his life to Jesus Christ in Jesus, the Way Evangelical Church with headquarters at Nkek, where he became a Pastor in the 70s.
Married to Alice, the Bishop was chief host of Rapture Half Hour in Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation (AKBC).
He was a staunch member of Fathers of Faith in Akwa Ibom and served as the Coordinator in Ukanafun.
In politics, he did not lag behind as he contested as the Chairman of Ukanafun Local Government Area.
