... Rep Unyime Idem handed over a four-kilometre road to his constituents, promising to attract more

In his determination to change the physical outlook of his constituency, the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency, Hon. Unyime Idem has handed over a four-kilometre road for use by the people of Oruk Anam Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State.

The newly inaugurated Ikot Akpan Essien-Ikot Obong- Ikot Ukpong Eren Road was facilitated by Idem to boost evacuation of agricultural products from the rural communities to the hinterland.

The road with a bridge crisscrosses from Ikot Ukpong Eren to Ikot Obong in the area.

Idem described the project as “an Easter gift from him to the people of Oruk Anam” stressing that “no development thrives without good road network.”

Addressing the people at Ikot Akpan Essien- Ikot Obong junction, he appealed to the people of Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency to be patient, assuring that more development projects are underway for them.

“I want to assure you that what I’ve done in the past five years is quite little, compared with what I will do in the next three years.

“More projects are coming. I want to promise the people of Oruk Anam that street lights will touch all the wards in the local government area.

“I promised you that I won’t buy a car or build a house for myself until I put smiles on the faces of my constituents. I’m still holding unto that promise,” the Federal parliamentarian said.

He then appealed to the youths to be peaceful, while restating his plan to facilitate more employments to his constituents, with the hope that “in the next 10 years I hope to see my constituents in federal government MDAs rise to managerial positions.”
