A Ghanaian clergyman has asked Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State “When you get to that top, return my sword to me.”
Presenting a well-decorated sword to the governor in his church, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, founder of Action Chapel International in Accra, Ghana, noted “But until then keep it. May the Lord guide you and as you hold this sword in your hand maintain it until you climb to the mountain!”
Excited Duncan-Williams, who played host to the governor during a recent three-day Prophetic encounter gathering, recalled “Before the election, I lifted up a sword over you here and the Lord said ‘give him that sword you lifted over him after the election.”
When the congregation became aghast to the significance of the symbolic instrument, he explained “The last time I was in Akwa Ibom State, I gave you that sword for governorship but this is beyond governorship. This is for the future- the next dimension, the next level and for the mountain top. Congratulations!”
Away from it, the revered clergyman presented a spare of shoes adorned in Ghanaian traditional colours- gold and green- to the governor. “This is the throne, the stool as a king. You must always wear a new shoe and this is a demonstration and a prophetic act to the future that is before you. So, I am giving you this as a symbol of kingship, of a new step and a new walk.
In the March 23 governorship election, Emmanuel eventually clinched the slot for a second term mandate using the swan song “Only God.”
On completion of his assignment, Duncan-Williams invited his guest speaker, Apostle Chuck Pierce Global Spheres Organization and Glory of Zion Ministries, Texas, USA to pray for the governor.
Apostle Pierce, a notable prophet in USA, observed “When I went to Nigeria in January, I was asked to teach a course on God, Government and Politics. The course that I taught was God is government, politics is dangerous. You have chosen God to rule you and raise you up in government and because of that you will be used mightily and then land to set a new course.
He prayed “The Lord says to you ‘you will begin to go up to the top of that mountain and your voice will be heard across the entire land.’ Now Father, we come and our dear brother Emmanuel. Father, we thank you for him and we thank you that you have shown your strong hands and the Lord says ‘just as you have moved pass one giant I say to you now you will be used to take the mother bridal cities of Nigeria.
“The Lord says ‘I will use you and give you the bridal that controls that land and you will begin to guide that land in a way that has never been guided before. I say to you this is your beginning but I speak from the beginning as God speaks and say you are in and will be greater than your beginning.
“You will rise up and your voice will be heard across that land and many will say we have seen God set a king in righteousness over this land. I say the day He sent you forth as a king to rule the land of Nigeria says the Lord. Let’s give a shout up in the Heaven to send this man forth,” he added.
Governor Udom Emmanuel was accompanied by Ephraim Inyang-eyen, the Works Commissioner; Nsikan Linus Nkan, the Finance Commissioner, Orman Esin, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Otuekong Raphael Bassey, the Commissioner for Housing and a Nigerian clergyman to the thanksgiving service in Ghana.
Responding, Udom thanked God for the victory to Divine Mandate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Akwa Ibom Chapter before and during the concluded elections.
According to him, “I am here with five representatives signifying grace. I am here with a Reverend gentleman to complete presence of a priest that go with a King. Today I am here, First of all, I thank God because when I was here sometime ago. Second, I want to thank the Archbishop. I was here and he prayed for me but I did not take it for granted. And God gave us victory.
“The Lord who answered my prayers will answer yours. As the Archbishop said, the election was between the lion and the bear against David. The lion and the bear are enemies but they ganged up against the lamb to kill it. But at the end of their attack, David triumphed. I am a living testimony that some trust in chariots, some in horses but we trust in the name of the Lord.”
