As the 2019 fast approaches, a Nigerian clergyman has urged politicians in the country to stop overheating the polity on account of desperation to become elected into their different offices.
The spiritual leader of Christ Deliverance Ministries Inc. (CDM), Lagos, Prophet Ekong Ituen, also told the political gladiators not to see politics as a do-or-die affair.
Speaking with newsmen in Lagos, Ituen enjoined “I, therefore, urge the religious leaders in the country to refrain themselves from making inflammatory utterances that promotes conflicts and disunity because God gives power to whoever He pleases.”
The cleric, however, advised politicians and lawmakers to emulate Senator Godswill Akpabio, describing him as a natural giver.
“He is an ardent advocate to the poor. I am impressed by the veracity of his generosity. It must be noted, that one of the cardinal attributes of our Lord Jesus Christ is love, which Senator Akpabio has demonstrated.
“It is my prayer that, others should emulate him because God takes pleasure on those who practices love and kindness.
As earlier predicted, the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will still face the problem of division and disunity as some members will still drag the party to the court.
Meanwhile, Prophet Ituen has predicted the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and election of Obong Nsima Ekere as the next governor Akwa Ibom State, Straightnews was told in a telephone interview with the clergyman on Friday, December 28.
Both are All Progressives Congress, APC presidential and governorship candidates, the party came into power in 2015.
Some past prophecies of the 50-year-old clergyman were “President Jonathan will not win 2015 presidential election,” “All Progressives Congress (APC) will win 2015 presidential election, But will experience serious leadership and economic challenges,“ ”The incumbent Governors of Oyo and Imo states in the persons of Chief Alao Akala and Mr Ikedi Ohakim should pray against DEFEAT during 2011 Governorship elections.” This came to pass when Alao Akala lost to Mr Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State while Ikedi Ohakim lost to Owelle Rochas Okoracha of Imo State.
“Senator David Mark may likely win 2015 Senatorial Election, but will not retain his seat as Senate President,” “I foresee tension during and after the 2015 election in Rivers State. … It is certain there will be serious protest and crisis in Rivers State after election over result.”
These prophecies could be verified from the national dailies.
In exclusive interview with Straightnews reporter, Ituen who hails from Ikot Nkan in Onna local government area of Akwa Ibom State, the same local government area with Governor Udom Emmanuel, Akwa Ibom Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, confirmed that “the prediction is true and accurate.”
“Much as I believe that President Muhammadu Buhari of All Progressives Congress will win 2019 Presidential election, you may not like him though, I however urge politicians not to overheat the polity on account of their desperation to get elected. Whatever anyone becomes in life is exclusively in the hands of God.
“He is going to be ruthless in fighting corruption. He will also revisit the issue of power infrastructure because of the inefficiency in that sector that has hindered the expected economic growth.
The man of God noted that the second coming of President Muhammadu Buhari would be traumatic for looters.
He predicted that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is playing his last days in politics, and would never become the president of Nigeria.
“I urge him to withdraw from the race and retire from politics to avoid shame as he will be messed up and abandoned by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” he advised.
Commenting on Akwa Ibom governorship election, Ituen predicted that though there may be some surprises, indications are that the APC would carry the day in all levels of election contests.
“The people of Akwa Ibom state will witness the toughest governorship election in the history of the state in 2019. I urge Akwa Ibomites to remain calm and peaceful”.
“Others that might have easy ride back to the government houses include Babagana Zulum of Borno State, David Umahi of Ebonyi State, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi State, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano Sate, Ben Ayade of Cross river State, Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Adebayo Adelabu of Oyo State and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State among others,” he revealed.
The church was officially inaugurated on August 15, 1995 with Lagos as its National Headquarters.
His calling began to manifest in 1993 at Ibadan, Oyo State in South-West Nigeria, after Elder Francis Umanah was healed of paralysis by God through him.
