A student from Imo State who made A1s in her nine subjects in the 2020 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination has been offered scholarship by Imo government.
Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma announced the offer Thursday while receiving the student, Miss Confidence Chinaza Nwaozuzu at the new EXCO chambers of the Government House, Owerri.
Confidence, a native of Amuzari in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, sat for the examination in Science and arts-related subjects at the Total Education Development Academy in Aba, Abia State.
While receiving the female student who was accompanied by her mother, Mrs Faith Nwozuz and some family members, the governor said he was excited when he read about the news of her success and directed the Imo State Commissioner for Information to contact her for recognition.
“Indeed, I’m excited and very glad for this moment that this young lady made the state very proud.
“I heard the news that Confidence made nine A’s in nine subjects. Most of the subjects are science subjects.
“I was excited to the extent I called the commissioner for Information to look for her.”
He promised that the state government will take responsibility for her education at any university of her choice whether in Nigeria or abroad.’’
“We will pick up the bills of her education to the extent she will desire to read in any University of her choice whether in Nigeria or abroad,” Governor Uzodimma said.
