A Nigerian, Ajao Samson has been confirmed as the new world record title holder for the longest marathon read aloud by the Guinness World Record, GWR.

Ajao made the announcement public in a post on his Facebook wall on Friday.

He wrote in the post: “I am overwhelmed with joy and gratitude to God, my family, friends, and an indefatigable team for making the big dream come to reality.

“Today, I was confirmed as the new world record title holder for the longest marathon reading aloud by the Guinness World Record. I am glad to be an advocate for literacy development,” the Osun-born man wrote.

Recall that John Obot from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, broke the Guinness World Records (GWR) for the longest marathon read-aloud event in September 2023.

Obot dusted the 124-hour mark set by Rysbai Isakov, an Indian who previously held the title, by clocking 145 hours.

Straightnews gathered that till date Obot has not submitted his work to GWR for assessment.
