In an unanimous decision, the Leader of Ukanafun Legislative Council, Mr. Ufokette Nelson Essien, moved a motion for the adoption of Rep. Idem as their sole candidate, and it was duly seconded by the Leader of Oruk Anam Legislative Council, Elder Sabbath Matthew Akpan.
The councillors described Dr. Idem as a visionary leader whose legislative strides and grassroots empowerment initiatives have significantly improved the lives of the people.
They noted that his track record in infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, education support, and effective representation at the National Assembly stands him out as the best choice to continue representing the constituency.
The councillors pledged their total support and commitment to mobilizing grassroots backing across wards and communities to ensure his resounding victory and that of other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2027 polls.

Responding, Rep. Idem thanked the councillors for the confidence reposed in him, describing their endorsement as both humbling and motivating.

On human capacity development, Rep. Idem announced plans to fund training of the councillors on policy-making, oversight, and representation, in order to strengthen governance at the grassroots level.
Idem assured them that he would not relent in attracting more projects, creating opportunities, and amplifying the voice of the people at the National Assembly.
