FIFA has selected “Dai Dai” by global icon Shakira with Nigerian superstar Burna Boy as the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Shakira unveiled a 67-second teaser for the track on Thursday, filmed at the historic Maracanã Stadium.

The video ends with the camera zooming out with fireworks going off over the stadium and a message that says, “We Are Ready” written on the roof.
In her announcement on X, Shakira wrote, “From Maracaná Stadium, here is ‘Dai Dai,’ the @FIFAWorldCup Official Song 2026. Coming 5/14. We’re ready! @burnaboy.”
The full song is scheduled for release on May 14.
“Dai Dai” marks Shakira’s return to the World Cup anthem spotlight.
She previously delivered one of the tournament’s most popular tracks with Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) for the 2010 South Africa edition and also contributed to the 2014 Brazil tournament.
The collaboration blends Latin rhythms with Afrobeats influences, promising a global sound for the 2026 tournament.
The teaser has generated excitement online, with fans describing Shakira as the “Queen of World Cup anthems” while anticipating another hit track.
The 2026 World Cup will be the first edition to feature 48 teams and is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19.
