The Court of Appeal in Abuja has ordered a stay of execution on the suspension of Adams Oshiohmole as the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC.
Justice Danlami Senchi of the FCT High Court, Jabu in Abuja had suspended Oshiomole as the APC National Chairman.
In a ruling by a three-man panel of Justices led by Justice Yahaya Dattijohe, the appellate court also issued an interlocutory injunction restraining the respondents from taking steps to give effect to the high court ruling, pending the determination of appeals Oshiomhole filed before it.
The court of appeal warned political parties to resolve their differences amicably without resorting to the court.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the postponement of the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) earlier scheduled for Tuesday.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, told State House correspondents that the president agreed to their request for the postponement of the meeting.
Bagudu said the meeting will hold when the governors are able to resolve the present crisis.
The announcement was made after governors elected under the platform of All Progressives Congress met with President Buhari earlier today ostensibly to fashion a way out of the leadership crisis bedevilling the ruling party.
The meeting, which started at 3 p.m, took place behind closed doors inside the president’s office.
