Popular Nigerian Human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu, got more than she bargained for when she rose stoutly in condemnation of attack of Fulani herdsmen by Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Sahara Reporters and Straightnews had reported that ESN, a security outfit of Indigenous People’s Biafra (IPOB), had chased away Fulani herdsmen, torching their make-shift settlements and killing their cows in Isiukwuato forest, Abia State.
However, the ENDSARS protester Aisha Yesufu reacting angrily about the security outfit in the country was quoted “This is absolutely not acceptable. We cannot have security outfits taking laws into their hands & maiming, killing and destroying properties. This is not acceptable.
”We must always remember no one has monopoly of violence and intolerance and we can all be mad. Let the law guide us!” she added.
Minutes later, many social media users took to their official Twitter handle to pour their venoms and disappointment over her comments.
Henry Ikediashi opposed the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu thus ‘’That man wants to sit in the comfort of his hideout overseas and set Nigeria on fire.
”Ndi Igbo are everywhere and will be a soft target for reprisal if we don’t stop this madness. Unfortunately, SE has no leadership politically right now.’’
But, Cynthia, another social media user, hit Yesufu thus ‘’But you tolerate the Fulani herdsmen killing, kidnapping and stealing from people even their cow destroying people’s farm. Never expected this write-up from u.. ESN must stand and no human can stop it, enough is enough, the Fulani has killed enough in Biafra Land.’’
Mazi Agozie “@Aisha Yesufu ‘’please don’t bring respect we all have for you down the drain. Which law are you talking about in this lawless contraption? The same law that exudes, and Yoruba lost Ilorin to Fulani.’’
VEE @Aisha Yesufu tweeted ”Are you suggesting they rather watch the Fulani herdsmen rape, kidnap, and kill their indigenes and keep quiet knowing fully well that the FG is in support of them, and won’t do shit about the attack regardless of their multiple complaints?’’
Kingsley @Aisha Yesufu tweeted ”Taking laws into ones hand is unacceptable but when the government plays a deaf ear to the accusation crisis caused by this individuals the peole will do otherwise, It is quite unfortunate such things are happening in this country.’’
Grace Amarachi @Aisha Yesufu tweeted ”The truth is that Nigeria is lawless. If there was law Fulani people wouldn’t have had the audacity to kidnap and terrorise the country. Why will Fualni people have a camp to terrorise Aba people? Why no get land, build house and ranch your cows?’’
OLAMP @Aisha Yesufu ”So which law allows the herdsmen to invade people’s land and destroy people’s farm, kill farmers if there is any form of retaliation? Nigeria is a lawless country.’’
