Some unknown gunmen have wrecked mayhem in Ikpe Annang Village, Etim Ekpo local government area of Akwa Ibom State and allegedly set ablaze more than 20 residential houses worth multi-millions of naira, investigations by Straightnews have shown. As Nigeria is marking the fourth anniversary of the Chibok kidnapping Saturday, UNICEF reported on Friday that more than 1,000 children have been abducted by Boko Haram insurgents since 2013. “Since 2013, more than 1,000 children have been abducted by Boko Haram in North-eastern Nigeria, including 276 girls taken from their secondary school in the town of Chibok in 2014,” said UNICEF in a statement. “These repeated attacks against children in schools are unconscionable,” Mohamed Malick Fall, a UNICEF representative in Nigeria. Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, Wednesday led a crack team of policemen to the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, where they uncovered fake malt and stout brewery. Discovered in the brewery, which is located at Egba Afa area, Igbogbo Bayeku community, were gallons and drums of different types. These drums and gallons are used in the production of the drinks. A number of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) across six states could not join their colleagues who passed out from the scheme. Thousands of corps members, part of the 2017 Batch A stream 1, passed out in ceremonies held across Nigeria on Thursday. However, the affected members had their service year extended for various offences. Two children of one of the new kings installed by Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, after the review of the 1959 Olubadan Chieftaincy declaration, Oba Lekan Balogun, were Thursday abducted at the Akobo residence of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
