Seplat Energy Plc is certain that the federal government would approve its acquisition of ExxonMobil’s assets. The company is a leading Nigerian independent energy company listed on both the Nigerian Exchange Limited and the London Stock Exchange. Akwa Ibom State Government has sought the partnership of the Ministry of Aviation for continuous development and expansion of Ibom Air, the state-owned airline. Governor Umo Eno, who announced this when he paid to the Minister of Aviation, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, courtesy visit in Abuja, noted that the state is committed to aviation development. Men of Ondo State Police Command granted Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as chef Dammy administrative bail Thursday. Dammy was arrested and interrogated by operatives of the Police AIG Zone 17 in Akure following a petition by her pastor, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah. The House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Water Resources to investigate N19.2 billion released for the control of devastating impact of flooding on farmlands across Nigeria. In the last couple of years, flooding has destroyed homes and farmlands and killed many in several parts of the country. A motion by Hon. The Court of Appeal in Abuja has reversed the nullification of the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State by a tribunal. The appellate court, in a unanimous decision by a three-member panel of Justices, voided the verdict of the Nasarawa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which sacked Governor Sule of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The Senate is on the neck of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) over alleged expenditure of hefty N12 trillion on the Turn-Around Maintenance (TAM) of the country’s non-functional refineries. At the centre of the allegation are Mele Kyari, NNPCL’s Chief Executive Officer and other top executives to properly explain the suspicious expenditure. Federal Government, states, and local government councils in the country got N906.955 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) as the October 2023 Federal allocation. According to a communiqué issued by FAAC at its November 2023 meeting, the N906.955 billion distributable revenue comprised: N305.070 billion statutory revenue; N323.446 billion Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue; N15.552 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue; N202.887 billion Exchange Difference revenue and N60.000 billion augmentation Total revenue of N1,346.519 billion was available in October 2023. South Africa has tackled Israel for perpetrating what it calls ‘genocide’ against the Palestinians.
