The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), distributed N1.1 trillion to the Federal Government, states and Local Government Councils (LGCs) for August 2023. A communiqué issued by the FAAC at its September meeting said the N1.1 trillion total distributable revenue comprised statutory revenue of N357.398 billion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N 321.941 billion and Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N14.102 billion. The Organised Labour has finalised massive mobilisation of their members and affiliates for a nationwide indefinite strike commencing Tuesday, October 3, 2023. An Italian court has sentenced the country’s citizen, Filippo Ferlazzo, to 24 years in prison for beating to death a physically challenged Nigerian. Ferlazzo killed Alika Ogorchukwu on July 30, 2022, at Marche Region of Italy, as confirmed at the time by the Nigerian Embassy, Rome, Italy.
