The House of Representatives, on Thursday, agreed to probe the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited over the alleged diversion and conversion of N20 billion by its officials to payment of consultants. Despite the NNPCL denying the allegation earlier on Monday, the House has set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate the amount. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called for redistribution of N132 billion to ensure 90 per cent goes to the tertiary institutions. This came as Federal Government recently approved N320.3 billion 2023 intervention for public tertiary institutions in the country. The Federal High Court, Lagos has vacated an interim ex-parte order stopping Roger Brown from parading himself as the Chief Executive Officer of Seplat Energy Plc. A San Francisco jury has ordered Tesla to pay a American-African former employee nearly $3.2 million for racial discrimination. In October 2021, Tesla was ordered to pay Owen Diaz $137 million by a jury when the original trial ended in October 2021.
