World football ruling body, FIFA has ordered the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to pay former Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, $378,000 or (about N156,616,740) compensation for ending his contract early. A 19-year-old man in Kano State has been sentenced to death by hanging for killing his five-year-old nephew. The Kano State High Court, presided by Justice Usman Naabba, sentenced Ibrahim Khalil to death for killing Ahmad Ado by sellotaping his nose and mouth. Khalil, whose address was not provided by the court, was convicted on two-count charge bordering on kidnapping and culpable homicide. Nigerian public universities would shut doors to academic activities for more 12 weeks, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has declared at the end of its warning strike. The decision was taken at an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) held at ASUU Secretariat in Abuja on Monday.
