After 22 days, relations of Madam Ekaete Wilson Okpon of Nnung Udo Uweme family in Iboko Offot Village, Uyo, are yet to recover her corpse. Madam Okpon, a petty trader had, on Wednesday, March 9, mistakenly fell into an open gutter by Nkemba junction during heavy rains. The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Akwa Ibom State Wing has given reasons it cannot call off its suspended industrial action soon. The union had suspended its four-day-old strike after the leadership led by its Chairman, Edet Emenyi and Secretary, Victor Amirize on Sunday, March 20 reached a truce with the state government. Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says he will withdraw from the presidential race if the People Democratic Party zones the presidential ticket to the North. The PDP recently inaugurated a 37-member committee to come up with a zoning arrangement for the party.
