Kidnap activities in Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom have taken a frightening dimension following the abduction of a retired Permanent Secretary in the state, Mr Ignatius Brown. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Obong Umana Umana, last Friday, terminated N300 billion contracts awarded by the sacked interim Sole Administrator of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Effiong Akwa. As Nigerian music prodigy, Davido and his partner, Chioma have lost their three-year-old son, Ifeanyi, Lagos police have arrested domestic staffers for interrogation. According to reports widely published in major news outlets, Ifeanyi drowned in a swimming pool at his residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos State. One person survived and 13 passengers were, Sunday, roasted in auto crash which occurred near the Four-Corners, Enugu at 9 p.m. The ill-fated 14-seater bus said to be traveling from Imo State to Adamawa reportedly ran into a trailer before it went up in flames. The Nigeria’ Flamingos have defeated Germany to clinch bronze medal in the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup in India. After narrowly missing out a place to Colombia in the final match, the Flamingos on Sunday soared to a 3-2 penalty shootout victory over Germany. Ahead of the February 2023 presidential election, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged presidential candidates to demonstrate leadership by directing their “campaign councils and political parties to regularly and widely publish the sources of their campaign funding.” SERAP said: “We are concerned about the vulnerability of political parties to corruption.
