The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the actual number of collected and uncollected Permanent Voter Cards in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and other Nigerian states to decide the fates of Presidential and National Assembly candidates on Saturday. PVC collection ended on February 5, after the commission extended the process twice. A total of 87,209,007 PVCs were collected, while 6,259,229 were uncollected as of February 5. The lingering dispute between the Federal Government and some states in the country over the Naira redesign policy will be rested by the Supreme Court on March 3. A seven-man panel of the apex court presided by Justice John Okoro announced the date for judgment shortly after taking all arguments for and against the policy on February 22. The Interim Management Committee, IMC, of Nigeria Professional Football League has suspended Shooting Stars’ camp commandant, Auwal Mohammed, for urinating in the pitch. Mohammed was pictured urinating in the centre circle before Shooting Stars’ matchday nine clash against Akwa United in Ibadan on Sunday. The official was suspended from all NPFL-related activities for one year, effective immediately. Similarly, the club is also fined N500,000 for failing to control Mohammed’s conduct.
