The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has blamed Governor Nasir El-Rufai for alleged killings and kidnapping plaguing Kaduna State. CAN was reacting to a statement by El-Rufai where he threatened to hire foreign mercenaries to help tackle insecurity in the state. After seven days, 21 passengers were still missing among the 170 aboard the Abuja-Kaduna train attacked by terrorists last Monday, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), has confirmed. NRC’s Managing Director, Mr Fidet Okhiria, said this in a statement on Sunday in Lagos while giving update on the incident, which occurred on March 28, at Kateri-Rijana area of Kaduna State. Nigeria‘s COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme (NG-CARES) says it has disbursed N35.3 billion to the 36 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to boost its performance in the country. The NG-CARES National Coordinator, Dr. Abdulkarim Obaje, announced this at the training for Monitoring and Evaluation Officers, Heads of Delivery Platforms in all states, and Heads of State Care Coordination Units, on Friday in Abuja. Akwa Ibom State Government has evacuated 34 stranded citizens from Katsina State following heightened banditry and insurgency in some parts of the state. The victims, who arrived in the state on Saturday, were received by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Dr Ini Adiakpan for the state government, at the Women Development Centre, Uyo. The Federal Government has disbursed N1.3 billion to 100,000 less privileged and poor households under the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme in Katsina State.
