Rauf Aregbesola, the Minister of Interior, said the public holiday is to commemorate Eid-ul-Mawlud, which is the birth of Prophet Muhammad. The senior pastor of Citadel Global Community Church, Lagos, Tunde Bakare has recanted his words that he would no longer pay visit to President Muhammadu Buhari. No fewer than 46 people perished and dozens seriously injured in a fire at a 13-storey tower block in southern Taiwan, officials say. The blaze started in the 13-storey commercial and residential building at 2:54 a.m. local time (2:54 p.m. ET) in Kaohsiung city’s Yancheng district in the early hours of Thursday, according to Taiwan’s official Central News Agency (CNA).
