Nigerian Government has disbursed N93,900,000 million loans to 939 women in Akwa Ibom under the National Women Empowerment Fund (NAWEF). NAWEF is a scheme established by the Federal Government to tackle poverty and unemployment among women, especially at the grassroots, and the micro credit intervention fund is managed by Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. Kwara State magistrate court in Kaiama has jailed a 28-year-old man six months for stealing tubers of yam. Abubakar Bani was arraigned by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command for stealing the yams from farms in Tenebo village, Kaiama local government area of the state. The Federal Government is ready to cross sword with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) for giving her 21 days to resolve the current dispute with the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) and other affiliate members. The Federal Government has resumed payment of stipends to more than 24,900 beneficiaries in Akwa Ibom State under the Household Uplifting Programme-Conditional Cash Transfer (HUP-CCT). The HUP-CCT is managed by the office of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development led by Sadiya Umar Farouq.
