Akwa Ibom Police Command gave a commendation letter to a senior police officer attached to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CSP Ebong Thompson, for rejecting  N800,000 bribe. The bribe was offered in an attempt to secure the release of a suspected robber and cover up the crime.
