Two students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in Nigeria have died of generator’s fume while a third person is recovering at the hospital. It was gathered that the FUTO students identified as Fred Eberechukwu, 22, Anele Stephen, 21, and Udeagbala Kenechukwu, allegedly put on the generator, locked their room and slept off. The incident which happened at Jabulani Hostel, Eziobodo, Owerri West Council Area of Imo State on Thursday, March 4 led to their suffocation and ultimate death. The Nigerian Army has announced postings and appointments of some affected senior officers to take effect from March 10, this year. The Army says Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru has approved the postings, describing the postings as a normal routine aimed at re-invigorating the system. A Supreme Court Judge, Sylvester Ngwuta, is dead. Sources at the apex court confirmed that Ngwuta died in the early morning of Sunday in his sleep at his official residence in Abuja. The Supreme Court judge was said to be getting set for his retirement from the Supreme Court on March 30, 2021 upon attainment of 70 years mandatory retirement age.
