Fear has gripped the people of Zamfara State in Nigeria as 317 girls were abducted by unknown gunmen early Friday, February 26, Zamfara Police Command has confirmed. The girls were abducted from Government Girls Science Secondary School, Jangebe in Jangebe, Zamfara State in Nigeria. Straightnews had earlier reported Friday that more than 200 school girls were abducted by the suspected gunmen. More than 200 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata Mafara Local Government Area in Zamfara State have been reportedly abducted by gunmen Thursday night, the BBC HAUSA Service has reported. In its monthly report released on its website, the Bureau revealed that the average price paid by consumers for premium motor spirit (petrol) increased by 12.88% year-on-year and decreased month-on-month by -0.97% to N164.09 in January 2021 from N165.70 in December 2020. Amidst tears, the remains of seven Nigerian Air Force officers were, Thursday, interred at the National Cemetery, Lugbe, Airport Road, Abuja. The officers died Sunday in the Beechcraft King Air B350i which crashed a short distance from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, after reporting engine failure. Runaway driver has been arrested and detained for allegedly killing four female hawkers in Anambra State. The truck driver was said to be running from revenue collectors in the area when he suddenly lost control and crushed the four at Upper Iweka flyover in Onitsha, the commercial hub of the state, on Wednesday, February 24.
