Hackers are making mincemeat of official websites in Nigeria. The hacking is claimed to be done by the Anonymous, a group of International hackers in its coordinated cyberattacks against the Nigerian government in support of #EndSARS. As the fire of #ENDSARS is raging, a Presidential Panel has recommended dismissal of 37 former members of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad from service. The Panel also suggested the prosecution of 24 other ex-SARS operatives for various acts of professional misconduct. These formed part of the report of the Presidential Panel on Reform of SARS set up by the Federal Government in 2018 to reform the dreaded unit. After a prolonged meeting Thursday, the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU failed to reach a truce on reopening of Nigerian universities shut more than seven months ago. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday announced the date for the 2023 presidential election. INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu said the 2023 presidential election is scheduled to hold on February 18, 2023. A total of N639.901 billion from Federation Accounts Allocation Committee was distributed among Federal, States, and Local Government Councils and agencies across Nigeria in September 2020. This was announced in a communique after a FAAC meeting presided by Alhaji Aliyu Ahmed, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance, Wednesday in Abuja.
