More than 25 persons Wednesday reportedly died in Nigeria’s Kogi State when a fuel tanker’s driver lost control, following brakes failure and collision with other vehicles. He is Professor Akan Bassey Williams and his appointment was announced by the Board of Regents of the University. Nigeria on Tuesday recorded 176 new cases of the Coronavirus. In a late-night tweet, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control noted that the new cases were reported from 14 states of the federation, including Lagos (73). Other states with new cases include Plateau (50), FCT (17), Rivers (8), Ondo (6), Niger (5), Ogun (5), Edo (3), Kaduna (3), Oyo (2), Bauchi (1), Bayelsa (1), Delta (1), and Nasarawa (1). A 31-year-old man in Anambra State of Nigeria trapped in the web of child theft has been caught by vigilant policemen. Chijioke Chukwulota, was said to have allegedly lured his ex-girlfriend to his home on August 8 and stole the set of twins- baby girls- aged two months. The Akwa Ibom Government in Nigeria has rolled out its annual financial report comprising collections from different sources and expenditure for various heads for 10 years spanning from 2010 to 2019. During the period, Akwa Ibom State collected N3,186,829,412,840.5 and spent N2,940,770,097,758.9. These came from internally generated revenue, statutory allocation, Value Added Tax (VAT), reimbursements, external and internal loan.
