Panic has gripped the people of Bayelsa State as a Governorship Election Tribunal, Monday, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to order a fresh election within 90 days. This came as a result of the Tribunal upturning the election of Bayelsa Governor, Douye Diri. The verdict follows the petition by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP) challenging the victory of Governor Diri in the November 19 governorship election. Since June 8, Nigeria has reported 298 more infections, the third-lowest COVID-19 cases. On August 4, the country reported 288 COVID-19 infections and just one week later, it recorded 290 new cases.
