A one-time Health Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria has joined the celestial abode.
Dr. Essien Ibokete from Ikot Udousung, Ukpom in Abak Local Government Area died in September 7, 2020.
Aged 70, Ibokete was Health Commissioner between 1995 and 1996 during the reign of Brig-General Yakubu Bako (retd), then a military administrator in Akwa Ibom.
Survived by Gloria, wife and four children, the deceased graduated from University of Nigeria, Nsukka with MBBS.
He belonged to many professional bodies among which are Nigerian Medical Association, Rotary Club of Nigeria and Nigerian Red Cross.
“A sociable, frank, kind-hearted, steadfast and lovable person,” Gloria x-rayed the attributes of her late husband.
His remains would be interred in his hometown after a funeral service by Church of God Mission International, Abak on November 13, this year.
