    Terrorists use ransoms to build houses in Niger Republic- Otitoju

    An ace journalist, Babajide Kolade Otitoju has alleged that terrorists kidnapping Nigerians for ransom have been using the money to build houses in the neighbouring country.

    Otitoju who stated this Tuesday in TVC News, Lagos under Journalists Hangout programme was reacting to raiding of Abuja forests and arrest of terrorists by Nigerian soldiers.

    This is as the abductors of Kaduna-Abuja train crash victims are alleged to be collecting not less than N100 million ransom from each person.

    He said findings revealed that most terrorists have been using the ransom collected in Nigeria to erect high-rise buildings in parts of Niger Republic.

    The Group Controller (Current and Public Affairs) at TVC News noted that he had interviewed some locals attacked by terrorists and they confirmed that the perpetrators wore long hairs and spoke foreign language.

    According to him, the terrorists who are foreigners from neighbouring countries usually use some Nigerians as informants to monitor their victims in order to abduct for ransom.

    Recall that soldiers of the Guards Brigade, Nigerian army raided forests in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Niger, Kogi and Kaduna states in search of terrorists, bandits, kidnappers taking refuge there.

    The operation followed the ambush of soldiers by terrorists in Bwari Area Council last Sunday.

    The operations, Daily Sun gathered, has yielded positive results with the arrest of several terrorists, destruction of their camps and recovery of arms, weapons, ammunitions and other logistics.

    So far, the source said a good number of the terrorists have been arrested and have made useful statements to intelligence officers.

    It was gathered that the suspect arrested revealed on their members who are Okada riders, water vendors, wheelbarrow pushers, petty traders, mobile tailors, shoe cobblers, among other informants to obtain information on troops movement, security presence among others before carrying out attacks.
