Akwa Ibom Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, has lost his polling unit in the Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections to All Progressives Congress (APC). Ekpo who is a member of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) became a deputy governor since 2015 under Governor Udom Emmanuel. An indigene of Abak town, he lost woefully Abak Urban 3 polling unit to APC submarine spearheaded by Senator Godswill Akpabio, a former Akwa Ibom State Governor. On the eve of Presidential and National Assembly elections, a member of Nigerian House of Representatives in Rivers State, Chinyere Igwe, is cooling his feet in the net of security operatives over possession of undeclared money. The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the actual number of collected and uncollected Permanent Voter Cards in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa and other Nigerian states to decide the fates of Presidential and National Assembly candidates on Saturday. PVC collection ended on February 5, after the commission extended the process twice. A total of 87,209,007 PVCs were collected, while 6,259,229 were uncollected as of February 5. The lingering dispute between the Federal Government and some states in the country over the Naira redesign policy will be rested by the Supreme Court on March 3. A seven-man panel of the apex court presided by Justice John Okoro announced the date for judgment shortly after taking all arguments for and against the policy on February 22.
