The Federal High Court, Uyo in Akwa Ibom State Friday sentenced 10 fraudsters to different terms for various offences. The convicts were arrested on different dates, and at different locations within Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and Calabar, Cross River State for various offences. The Catholic Priest of Auchi Diocese in Edo State, Rev. Father Christopher Osia, who was abducted by gunmen Sunday morning, has been reportedly killed. The priest was kidnapped in Ikabigbo community of Etsako West Local Government Area of the state. The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that monkeypox is not yet a global public health emergency. The announcement is coming after report of at least 4,100 people contracting the disease related to smallpox in 46 countries as of June 24. Speaking on Saturday June 25, WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he was deeply concerned about the outbreak.
