Former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau, has defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), BBC Hausa reported on Wednesday. The Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed has suspended the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris over an alleged N80 billion fraud and money laundering. Fourteen months after getting nod to operate, Topfaith University in Mkpatak, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State matriculated its 104 pioneer students on Saturday. The students took matriculation oath and were admitted into four faculties of the young university which commenced its maiden 2021/2022 academic session in October 2021. The university is among the 20 private universities in Nigeria approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. The former Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere, is cooling his feet in the custody of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Commission’s spokesperson Wilson Uwajaren who confirmed it to journalists on Wednesday. Ekere is said to have diverted the over N47 billion through registered contractors using registered contractors of the NDDC.
